Professor Michał Romanowski named among Poland’s most influential lawyers

Professor Michał Romanowski, the managing partner at law firm Romanowski & Partners, has been included in Dziennik Gazeta Prawna’s 2025 ranking of the 50 most influential lawyers in Poland.

The selection committee justified their choice of Prof. Romanowski as follows:

“One of the leading figures in the fight for the rule of law and the independence of the judiciary. Prof. Romanowski has actively participated in public debate, particularly regarding the implementation of solutions to resolve the crisis facing the judiciary and the manner and pace of holding the previous government to account — the government responsible for the difficult situation in the judiciary. His voice resonated widely in 2025, when key decisions were being made regarding the direction of judicial reform and personnel appointments (including changes to the Minister of Justice). Furthermore, as a specialist in company law and corporate disputes, he has influenced the development of legal practice and the interpretation of commercial law in this area. He participated in the debate on managerial liability and corporate governance standards, and his views were cited in the reasoning of court rulings and legislative analyses.”

Professor Romanowski comments on this selection as follows:

"This description proves that business and values can be combined in practice, not just in words. After all, the rule of law is a safe space for brave people: entrepreneurs and their colleagues, managers and employees, who deal with the unpredictability of politicians every day. After 30 years of practising law, reading such words makes me conclude that, despite the many difficulties, I am heading in the right direction. It is not worth being indifferent, as this may only bring short-term gains.
